Rain

Lots of rain

I look at the 10 day weather forecast each day and it is now getting to where  I seen nothing but rain and/or showers.  Fortunately a lot of the rain comes in the middle of the night so we do have some clear days.  I went on one of these days to take some pics of the area I am in.

This is a pic of my campsite which is up against the forest.

This has been my home since leaving the campground back in September. I was going to move up to Mt Hood Villages, but decided that Clackamus River RV Park was closer to town and much cheaper.  Yes my rig is slightly slanted to the right but that is to allow rain water to run off and not build up around my A/C unit.

Looking down on the campground.

A couple of huge logs that I found.

This is the forest directly above the campground.

Farther up the hill.  To the right is the little town of Estacada about 6 miles down the road.  To the left about 25 miles is the Lake Harriet Campground where I worked last summer.  This is the first time I have stayed in a 31 mile radius for almost the entire year.  Welches is only about 30 miles from here.

New weather forecast

I just checked the weather forecast this morning and it only shows rain 2 out of the next 10 days.  HOORAY!!  It sure is nice seeing the sun again.

  1. You’re still in a beautiful area, Jim. Send some of that rain to California please. Your rig does not look that tilted? Hopefully no rain will settle on top. 🙂

  2. Jim, I’ve always enjoyed your traveling blog! You might consider buying one, or two, of these 200 watt Lasko 101 My Heat Personal Heaters to keep your water pump/line from freezing this winter. I’m giving them a try myself. Happy Trails! Larry

  3. Can’t wait to see your new home once it is built! Continue to let us all know how you are doing. Happy Holidays to you!

  4. I don’t know if you remember us – George and Evielynne (MrsCraftRVing) we are going back on the road only this time as RV Guy Plus Sewing – in a travel trailer and it’s getting a major new look for Oct (we don’t leave until Oct 17th) Hitch Itch BAD and still 9 month to go.

  5. Hey Jim, Haven’t seen any posts recently. Are you still staying at Clackamas River RV Park? I hope all is well. I’m headed back to Montana in the Spring and will be traveling through Eastern Oregon then through the Lolo pass. I hope you are doing well.

    • I am doing well. I haven’t blogged lately since not too much to report except a lot of rain up here in Oregon. Still waiting for my new home to close and move in day. I loved my travels through Montana and I’m sure you can’t wait until Spring. Take care.
